BACE – FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

What is BACE?
BACE stands for Bhaktivedanta Academy for Culture & Education. Its primary objective is to train the young boys, who are the future of the society, in real culture and education. What culture and education it teaches? There are innumerable educational institutes in the city. So how is the BACE different from others?
Nowadays everyone is enamored by western culture where man and woman are free to do anything they like. Everyone’s goal of life is to accumulate more money and make the life more aristocratic and comfortable with the latest technology available. Concept of work hard and party harder is very popular. Night clubs, disco theatre, bar, casinos are available in every corner of the city to facilitate sensual enjoyment outside the family atmosphere. But result is not very wonderful. Although such culture appears attractive to the modern youths, there is no peace in the society. Crime rate and suicide rate is increasing day by day.
BACE does not promote the similar kind of culture. It is teaching the culture of love, compassion, truthfulness, humility, simplicity and non-envy. There is a famous poem by Rabindranath Tagore “where mind is without fear…”, where he is dreaming about such culture. Every intellectual dreams about such ideal culture but do not strive for it because it appears to him, to be impractical in today’s world. Yes, it is impossible to have such culture in the atheistic environment where people do not know the purpose of life. But that culture manifests naturally among people who take shelter of God. BACE teaches those cultural values to the youngsters by giving them real knowledge about life.
Srila Prabhupad, the founder acharya of International society for Krishna Consciousness, stressed on the necessity and urgency of learning the Supreme absolute truth. It is the privilege for a human being to know the ultimate goal of his life and lead the life in such a way that he attains that goal before his body becomes dead. Without that absolute knowledge, the knowledge about God, human society finds no goal other than eating, sleeping, defending and mating. Every single living entity including animal, bird, and insect is engaged for the whole life only in those 4 activities. Human life is the rare opportunity to understand God and love Him. The BACE teaches this most confidential knowledge, by which one can establish the loving relationship with God.

What is the objective of BACE?
Through various education programs BACE attempts to offer Vedic alternative to the youths. Today most of the youths are under severe stress and anxiety. They do not get right direction and therefore they fall victims of deadly addictions and diseases. Suicide rate in young age is increasing day by day and there is no hope for them. BACE is trying to give right direction to the youth generation based on the principle of Bhagavad Gita and save them from nescience.

What kind of people are there in the BACE?
The members of BACE are mostly bright young boys who are either working professionals or college students. They spend working hours/college hours in office/college, but utilize the free time in studying Vedic literature and practicing Krishna consciousness. By cultivating devotional service to Krishna, they develop all good qualities like truthfulness, compassion, humility etc. they realize the value of human life and therefore they do not waste time without any purpose.

What benefits will I get if I join the BACE?
You may not get any financial or health benefits if you join BACE. The benefit that you will get is highly precious and your life will be successful if you can receive that. The highest thing that a human can have in his life is love of God and you will get direction how to attain that goal. First of all you will understand the value of life and the purpose of the existence of the whole universe. Living a life without this knowledge is equivalent to traveling by a train without knowing the destination and the purpose. The secondary benefits that you will get in addition to that is — you will have clear intelligence to discriminate what is right and what is wrong, free from stress and anxiety and your life will be peaceful and happy.

How can I join the BACE?
You simply have to come to the program at any nearby BACE and enroll yourself for the training sessions. You need not pay any money but you are expected to be sincere about the life and honest in your words. If you really want to get the benefit, you need to be regular in the programs but there is no hard and fast rule that you must attend every program.

I don’t believe in God and religion. Can I attend the program and ask questions?
Yes. Human life is meant to enquire the problems and solve them. One need not believe in the existence of God blindly and one should not believe God just to receive some material benefits like money, job etc. An intelligent human being is expected to ask questions on various problems of life. No one wants to die but everyone has to die helplessly. One is expected to ask how he can stop death. Why bad things happen to good people? Why so many innocent people die in earthquake and tsunami?  From a small atom to gigantic planets everything is designed very perfectly. Who is behind all such complex design? Only human can ask such questions, animals cannot. Vedic literature satisfactorily answers all questions. So you are welcome to BACE.
We value the learning attitude and open mindedness of any person, not the challenging mood.

Do I have to give up my job/study if I become the member of BACE?
No, the education system of the BACE does not teach one to give up his job or study. It only teaches how to perform all activities with proper consciousness. Human being has got more developed consciousness than animals and so if one cultivates one’s consciousness and keeps it pure, all his activities become pure and beneficial for everyone. By becoming a member of BACE you will get complete training on how to develop all good qualities and then you will be able to render the best service to the humanity by teaching the real value of life and save many suffering souls.
